Running XPh with MySQL 5.0.
I downloaded Baby Web Server 2.7.2 and tried to set up the asp based Snitz Forum. When I ran setup.asp, it spit out the following:
Script error detected at line 449.
Source line: Application.Lock
Description: Object required: 'Application'
I realize there isn't a lot you can do without the source , however suffice it to say there isn't an "Application.Lock" at line 449 in setup.asp so I s'pose it's in another program, but I digress......
Question is, with the information I've provided, can anyone safely tell me I'll have better luck with Quick and Easy Web Server? Perhaps someone else here is also running Snitz.
Second question is strictly for the admin. Is this forum running under either Unix or Linux? I surfed to the phpBB site and I see no mention of Windoze. If phpBB runs under Windoze, will it work with Q & E?
Thanks bundles!

Baby Web Server is an older version of Quick 'n Easy Web Server.
Baby Web Server does not support the Application object.
Quick 'n Easy Web Server supports much more ASP code and is more secure.
I haven't tried it myself but the Snitz forum should run on QnE Web Server unless it is strictly written for IIS.
This forum currently runs on a linux system, but I've succesfully installed it on QnE Web Server under Windows a few times uinsg both MS Access and MySQL as database.
Just give it a try and see how it works |
