I am running ftp server on a vista home PC installed as discribed but I cannot connet to the server.

the following message appears in the trace window
conneting to : ip-adress
!! cannot connect

error command :m the attampt to connect to the ftp sercver failed

what can be the problem

i can ping to the ip-adres ftpports 20-21 are open

Its works from my local pc but when i try to do it from an other pc in othe local network i gor the same responce.
I have checked the firewall and it is oke.
what now i have check the Faq but find something about tghis problem

This must be a firewall problem. If it works locally then there cannot be any other reason why the other pc can't connect.

it can be the firewall because if i switched off the firewall the problem exist

What information is in the log file?
Did you try both passive and active mode?

Treid both passive and non passive

i have uninstalled and instaled trhe server again
I can ping from any pc on the local network using 127.0.0.1
but when a change it to my ip adres it doesn't work

I have a fritzbox 7170 modem/router and have insatlled ip forwarding port 20/21 to my pc port 80/81

The log does not show any attempt to login.
This can only mean one thing:
Your firewall or router is blocking the connection.

1) Try to connect locally. Does that work? if yes, then the server is ok.
2) Try to connect from another computer in your network with the local IP address of that computer. Passive mode in the client must be off.
3) Try to connect from a computer on the Internet using the public IP address.
