I've been using FTP Wander since V2 and I'm currently using V3.
Recently my Zen Cart web site was hacked. When I contacted my host, they said there was no unusual third party activity at the time, and suggested it might be my FTP client.
My site was hacked again the other day and once again my host says no unusual third party activity was logged, and once again the suggested it may be my FTP client.
At the time of the last hack I was using FTP Wanderer to upload phpBB to a different folder. The date stamp of the hacked files and the time I was using Wanderer did coincide.
Due to my ultra slow Internet connection, the PHPbb upload took quite a long time. In fact, it seemed ridiculously long. Also, when I went to run PHPbb after what seemed like a successful install, it reported that all the Style folders were empty. I actually watched what was being uploaded and I'm positive the contents of those folders were shown as being transferred.
There is another way the hacker may be getting in. I installed two popular Zen Cart extensions a few weeks before the first hack, but nothing has been reported by other extension users on the Zen Cart site.
It's possible both hacks were by the same people because similar files were dumped in my Images folder. In the first hack, they added a new listing and the new files. In the second, the replaced the home page.
The last hacker was Predator operating out of an Indonesian site called
PEKALONGAN CYBER TEAM
Can anyone throw any light on this? |

I strongly doubt that this problem has anything to do with FTP Wanderer.
To hack your website through your computer they must first have access to your computer. So they will have to bypass your firewalls and other security.
When someone has access to your computer they can do anything you want to your website or anything else you can connect to. |

That's reassuring. I've always run a firewall and I haven't had problems with my other sites or my computer. I haven't checked Predetor yet, but the other hacker seemed to specialise in Zen Cart.
