I am using the Professional 3.2 quick 'n easy ftp server on a Windows Server 2003 RS Service Pack 2 and I am getting complaints that users can't connect. When I check the server it is usually hung up and I have to stop services from task manager and restart the program. Seems to do this 3-4 times per day. Its really becoming a pain to half to always restart this software.

Any ideas.

Here is the log the users are providing me. Once I restart it they all can connect again.

What information is in the log of the server?
There are no known problems wit hthe server. Do you have any other software running on the same computer which may conflict with the server, like a firewall or virusscanner? Did you try to run the server on another computer?

I checked the logs and dont see any reference to the FTP software.

Yes, one of my subcontractors uses your software on their servers and they stated they had the sames issue. Having to use task manager to stop the service then restart it.

I checked the logs within the ftp server bin and it just shows that it connects several times per day.

What log file on the server should I be looking at?

The log file is called 'ftptrace.txt'
The log level should be set to 'trace'.

I have already looked at that too..here is a snip of that log. I just logged into the server cause the ftp was not connecting again.

The log level is not set to trace.
Can you please set it to 'trace' and do the tests again.
Without log information there is nothing useful I can say about this.

I have set the logs to trace right now. I will provide the log the next time we have this issue.

I used this all morning and it worked fine. I think one of my customers is not using their FTP software correctly by opening up too many connections...here is the trace log. I was 70.16.144.35 and disconnected, then my customer connected from 221.12.131.74

Every looks ok except for this one user using up all of the connections.
You can limit the maximum connections per IP in the configuration.
