Every now and then Outlook 2003 produces the following error message:

The Quick 'n Easy Mail Server log shows the following:

The next time (a few seconds later) everything went fine.

What can be the cause of this problem? I have no other network problems.

Do you have a spam filter or virus scanner running?
If yes, try disabling the POP3 proxy.

On the server is no spam filter or e-mail virus scanner running, but on the client machine I have AVG Free virus scanner (with AVG MS Outlook Extension enabled) and the default spam filter of Outlook 2003.

What do you mean with disabling the POP3 proxy? How do I do that? On which machine?

A POP3 proxy is usually installed by your virus scanner or firewall to monitor POP3 traffic. This is the most usual cause of the 0x800CCC0F error. For more details how to debug 0x800CCC0F errors please check the support site of Microsoft.

I work at MS Outlook every day. To my mind I know this tool quite well. But one day before yesterday I was astonished, because of all my emails had been lost. I didn't know what to do next. By sheer chance a friend called me up and advised - outlook 2003 cannot view my sent items folder. It turned out the utility was very good and resolved my issue for a minutes and without money. Moreover the software helped my brother too. He thanked me a lot.
