My last effort to see if I can get Q&E FTP-server to work with both active and passive mode.

I have a Linksys WAG 354 G router. Works fine with everything. FTP and Webhosting.

I have Q&E FTP server installed. Works great, in active mode.
However, most FTP users make contact in passive mode. This is a major problem since our software does not allow them to use passive mode.

My PASV settings are: 192.168.178.20 which is the PC with the Q&E software
Port range: 21 - 22

So where does it go wrong? Windows Firewall? Router?
Can someone help me?

Answer from FTP server:

Please note that it's not the software that prevents users from using PASV mode, it's your firewall settings!
If you want users to connect through passive mode then all ports must be forwarded to the server pc.

Simply open all ports on your firewall and router and you will see that it works.
Unfortunatelty each firewall and router is different so I can't give you more details for your specific situtation.
The general rules is: all configured passive mode ports must forwarded omn each router and/or firewall you have between the Internet and your computer.
