Easy FTP Server Lite 3.1and <Windows 7

Post by GermanUser » Sat Jan 22, 2011 2:47 pm

Hi,
I’ve just installed the Easy FTP Server Lite 3.1 on my Laptop using Windows 7
There are some items which should be improved or adapted to Win 7.

The program doesn’t open a port (21) automatically (does not support UPnP).
Most people nowadays use a routing serving different IPs at any startup.

I can’t open the help file anymore, although I have installed the fix Windows6.1-KB917607-x86 (Read old help files)

Starting the program as a standard user, I get the following error message
Cannot create or open file: C:\Program Files\ftpserver 3.0\ftptrace.txt

For that folder I gave admin-rights to the standard user. But it didn’t help.

There is a discrepancy between the Homepage and the window.
On the Homepage you see version 3.2
On the screen you still see 3.1

When we can expect an updated version 3.3 for Windows 7?

Regards

Correct you must do that yourself as documented in the FAQ.

The most recente version (3.2) includes windows help file that is fully compliant with Windows 7 (FTPServer.chm).
Starting the program as a standard user, I get the following error message Cannot create or open file: C:\Program Files\ftpserver 3.0\ftptrace.txt
Since there is no installer you do not have to install the software in the program files folder. However if you do you must give it the appropriate permissions.

Thanks for the tip about the versi number, I have now updated the website.

Note that you can download the latest lite version (3.2) here:
